About Me

I am Michael McBride, a Professor of Economics at the University of California, Irvine whose research and teaching focuses on game theory and experimental economics. You can browse my professional website for more information.

I am also a big baseball and softball fan and have coached both sports for many seasons at the youth level. I have even published a book on how to apply sabermetrics when coaching youth.

My creation of fair-credit baseball statistics combines my professional and non-professional interests. The fair-credit baseball project has also benefited from the support of multiple research assistants, including Robert MacDonald (machine learning), Casey Stanford (web scraping, automation, and website integration), Katelyn Vuong (web scraping), and Solomon Midwinter (leaderboards). I also thank Steve and Linda Borowski for their generous financial support.
